Again we transition to the most beautiful time of year on Cape Cod. We hope everyone had a great summer season and Patriot Spirits would like to thank each of you for our busiest summer ever! Toward the end of the summer Patriot Spirits discovered several new wines to complement our ever expanding selection. We would like to share with you a few of our finds.

2006 Domaine Petite Chateau Chardonnay - VDP Du Jardin, France

If you didn't read the label this wine presents itself as a dead-ringer for a flinty, mineral like Chablis-Village Wine. Selected from 10 different "cuvees", this is a non-oaked, bone-dry estate bottled bargain. Tired of overly-oaked California Chardonnay? Then try this BEAUTY!

2006 W. Gisselbrecht Pinot Blanc - Alsace, France

This is our favorite " ABC" wine, (Anything but Chardonnay). Again, 100 tank fermented with a forward nose of candied peaches and apricots. There's richness on the palate that follows into a juicy yet dry finish, perfect as an aperitif or with your favorite seafood dish. $11.99 2 for $20.00

2006 Borgo Tesis Pinot Grigio - Friuli, Italy

The Friuli district of Northern Italy is renowned for producing world-class Pinot Grigio. In the glass there is an unmistakable olive color tinge to the wine eluding to its pedigree. A complex nose of mineral and ripe white fruits. Medium to full bodied on the palate with firm acidity, very rewarding!

2006 Montedos Oliveiras - Alentejo, Portugal

A blend of 3 native grapes, this is a deliciously fruity, accessible red that blows the doors off most California reds costing twice as much! Castelao, Trincadesia and Aragones grapes blended and aged for 6 months in new oak. Wow! What a find, buy this one by the case, several of you have already!

2007 Camille Cayran Cotes du Rhone

We should file this wine under the "WHAT WEAK DOLLAR?" category! A fruit forward approachable blend of Grenache Noir, Syrah, Carignane and Cinsault. The nose bursts with crushed raspberries, on the palate is a pleasant spiciness framed by 3-6 months in new oak. A wedding party this summer purchased 5 cases for their big day. Don't miss this one!

2006 Antano Tempronillo - Rioja, Spain

The Tempronillo grape hails from this region of Spain where no other wine growing district can match its track record. More New World style than old, showing less time in oak and relying more on its vivid fruit flavors up front. Delicious served with a variety of cheese, appetizers and lightly spiced fare.

2007 Miguel Gascon Malbec - Mendoza, Argentina

The 06 of this wine garnered 90 Points from Parker's Wine Advocate and this vintage is very similar in style& . Inky and purple colored, it offers up aromas of pepper, black cherry and blueberry. Elegantly styled this medium bodied wine has a smooth texture, excellent texture and concentration with enough concealed tannin to provide for 5 years bottle aging.
